Self
Amalgamating Tape |
Bells has successfully developed within their 'R & D' facility
"Self
Amalgamating Tapes of Anticorrosive as well as insulating
values. These
tapes are exclusively designed for use in jointing of
telecommunication Cables
laid underground. These inherent properties of the basic
polymer enables the
said tapes to protect the joint from chemicals or electrolytic
corrosion apart
from perfect insulation.
Recommeneded Uses
1. Protection from Bird fault over Bus Components, Cross arms,
Jumper
Joints
2. Insulation of damaged cables in emergency condition such as
Rain, Snow,
Etc
3. For Building stress cones
4. For Jacketing of high voltage terminations of power cables
from 600 Volts
through 35000 Volts
5. For Insulation & Jacketing of splices on power cable from
600 Volts
through 69000 Volts
6. For Protection from corona and ozone attack
7. Weather proofing requirements
Method of Application
AUTOBOND-1013 anticorrosive Tape is stretched to 2/3
(two third) of its
original width and then it is wrapped by the half over lapping
process. Two
such layers are good enough for proper binding & amalgamation.
Over the
said lapped tape in similar way, warp AUTOBOND-1010 Tape
with
enough tension which reduces the original width of the tape to
2/3 (two third)
and apply Two layers for proper insulating and Self bonding
properties.
Above tapes are compatible with all types of power cables such
as PVC,
EPR, XLPE etc.
